Sophie Riopel
Born and raised in a family of artists and craftspeople, Sophie has always had a passion for creativity and the arts. Growing up she always loved experimenting with different forms of art. From starting to draw posters to taking years of voice lessons to learn how to preform, she always wanted to share her talents with the world.
However, she didn't always intend to pursue an artistic career. It wasn't until she was diagnosed with a rare medical condition, causing her to slowly losing her vision, that she decided she needed to follow her dreams while she has the chance.
Determined to continue her work as a graphic designer despite her condition, Sophie began exploring new ways to design that would be inclusive and accessible to all, including those with disabilities. She found that her own experiences as someone with vision loss gave her a unique perspective on the importance of accessibility in design, and she became an advocate for creating designs that are usable and accessible to everyone.
